A Request to Our Commenters

Please try to debate these posts in a civilized manner. I know that emotions can get rubbed raw due to the sensitive nature of the subject being discussed, but the operative rule here is the same as in soccer; play the ball not the man. Too many insults are being slung and not enough facts. These do little to help the cause of debunking the "Truthers". And please, eliminate the obscenities. If you wouldn't want your grandmother to hear what you're saying, don't say it!

Joan, I doubt very much we will get advertising on this site. Knowing Google Ads, they'd put up ads for Loose Change and David Ray Griffin's latest book.

I wouldn't mind making money off this, but it's not as easy as it sounds. Even with the blog getting 1000+ hits a day we'd probably get about $2/day in ad revenue; that's not even worth the effort.

Now if we could make a movie, and sell 100,000 copies at $17.95 a pop...

D.A. = "But its all about the truth man, not the money. We give away alot of our DVDs, and we have our video on Google Video."

ya, right.

I agree abou the language comment, mainly because it is sinking to the level of many of the D.A.'s out their. It is hard to say you're being rational and intellectual about this, if you are using profanity to make a point, even if it si one of frustration.

OK, OK I'll clean it up.

I'd love to know what words besides profanity accurately describes the garbage that CTers spout.

And the antisemetic garbage that comes out of Nesnyc, I mean come on, is there really a non profanity laced description of that crap?

I think its the right approach. They are already going on about holographic planes and other complete insansity, why not "generously" allow them to have a monopoly on obscenities and personal attacks? Give them enough rope to hang themselves.

Antisemitism? Jew-baiting? Holocaust denial?

There are a lot of precise terms for what Nesnyc comes up with.

Alright Joan, if you don't like the potty-mouth, I'll just stick to using descriptive yet "non-potty" terms for you and your ilk. Like PONTI, or gluebag. Will that make you happy?

When people fail to use critical thinking and make a mockery of the death of 3000 Americans (not to mention the day I honestly thought America was at its end) I often use language I don't use in polite company.

As do I, but I'll be mindful that they are making that mockery in someone else's house here. I won't shy away from calling them the evil terrorist supporters they are, but I'll leave the f-bomb for my own house and theirs. This place belongs to P and J.

I think that is g**d*** reasonable f*****g request, one that will help foster some pig-f*****g good discourse, and I will mo******g abide by the sh*t.

Asterix aside, makes excellent sense.

It's actually one of the least useful words in the world. F'ing as an adjective tells me nothing. An f'ing idiot is not obviously dumber than an idiot.

And 99% of the time it's actually used as a very lazy verb. When you say that "so and so f'ed me over" I have no idea what actually happened (other than you're not happy about it).

Indeed, the only reason people use the word is to indicate that they are seriously angry about the subject at hand. Which I think we can all understand from either side in this debate.

Since I'm from the Greater Boston Area I use "wicked" as my adjective of choice.

Ah, how about that Carl Yastrzemski? Wicked stick!
