More On the Architects and Idiots for 9/11 Truth

The whole point of this myriad of 9/11 truther associations of so-called experts is suppose to be that they would provide a certain authority and expertise to their claims, that somehow their personal experience will add to their arguments. Under examination, however, they generally provide none of this, but instead just repeat unsubstantiated truther myths, while adding nothing to them, in fact they often do a worse job scientifically than your average conspiracy theorist with no scientific background living in his parents' basement. For example, watch this cringingly bad presentation by Richard Gage, the founder of Architects and Engineers for 9/11 "Truth". I could go on for pages about the problems with this presentation, in which very little is original, just repeats of previously debunked myths, but for an "architect" he can't even get the basic facts right, at the 15:55 mark:

In this case, Caracas Venezuela, 56 story burned for 17 hours for 26 floors. Its fireproofing is only good for 2 hours, it did not collapse after 17 hours. Likewise Los Angeles First Interstate burned 3.5 hours over 5 floors. Philadelphia, 91, 38 stories, burned for 18 hours over 8 floors, no collapse. These buildings are all being utilized today.

Uhh, except they aren't. The first building mentioned, the Parque Central in Caracas, which suffered severe damage in 2004, is still being renovated today, undergoing structural and safety improvements. Interestingly enough, when the fire occurred, the biggest fear was that it might collapse.

Military helicopters doused one of Venezuela's tallest buildings with water Sunday, bringing under control a blaze many feared might cause the tower to collapse.

Earlier, nearby residences and businesses were evacuated. Two floors and some staircases in the building collapsed. But by Sunday afternoon, the temperature inside the burning building had dropped, lessening the danger of a collapse, Caracas fire chief Rodolfo Briceno said.

The building in Philadelphia, known as 1 Meridian Plaza, was so heavily damaged that it had to be carefully disassembled piece by piece.

Being wrong 66% of the time might be a good average for a baseball player, but for an architect, I will place my bets with someone else.

Update: Later on at the 22:30 mark Gage continues: "Molten iron is the product of the incendiary thermite, a cutter charge which is used in many controlled demolitions".

MANY CONTROLLED DEMOLITIONS!!?? Could this esteemed architect please point us to a single controlled demolition which has used thermite, much less "many' of them? I am sorry, but this guy is an idiot. I would never enter a building which he had designed.
