Why Are Truthers So Lazy?

One of the things I have always genuinely wondered about Truthers, is how deeply they actually believe their own crap.  The wackier nutcases like Kevin Barrett and Alex Jones may be out there on the sanity scale, but at least they actually act most of the time like they truly believe in their theories.  Most of the Truthers are so lazy and complacent about their theories that they act like a bunch of teenagers arguing who would win a fight between Batman and Superman.

A perfect example of this is Journal of 9/11 Studies editor Frank Legge, quoted here in the Asia Times

VF: Where are the live hijackers?
FL: If there were hijackers, which I think is likely, they are all dead of course. It is not the real hijackers but the "named hijackers" who are still alive. This comes about due to identity theft. Where the live ones are is of no consequence.

No consequence? Really? Other than, I don't know... winning a Pulitzer prize, changing history as we know it and proving your idiotic theories correct, showing that the hijackers were not who we thought they were and are in fact still alive would have "no consequence"?

Really?

 REALLY?

Well...in the classic "Batman vs Superman" Batman outsmarted Superman by pointing to a red button on his utility belt and telling the man of steel when he pressed it an innocent man would die. So Superman couldn't do anything.

Plus Batman keeps Kryptonite around. So I don't know, I guess Superman would have to heat-vision the guy to death

It's all so complicated.

Yup, this is on par with "the media is covering it up because they're in the pocket of Bushitler!" that we hear from that noted professor of media studies, Brian Good, all the time.

Apparently, these people were passed out drunk and missed Watergate, Iran-Contra, Lewinsky, and Abu Ghraib.

One would think that looking into the individuals whose identities were chosen for the cover story might, you know, lead somewhere. Or is that naïve?

Plus, most of the times when DC has decided to actually send Batman up against Superman in the comics, it has resulted in Batman getting his ass handed to him, almost literally (except in The Dark Knight Returns, where Batman kicked the shit out of Superman).

Of course there were real hijackers, just not those hijackers. Using those specific names was vastly important.

GMS, the use of bogus names suggests a careless investigation. I guess you think all ragheads are the same as all other ragheads, even when they're not ragheads?

Then why aren't the members of the supposed truth movement investigating this? Googling 10 year old news reports is not investigation.

OK, let's start with the release of the redacted 28 pages of the Joint Inquiry.

And then let's go with the information that many of the alleged hijackers trained at US military bases. Maybe we can find out more about them if we interview their friends and associates.

Yeah, I am dying to hear a Truther interview soldiers who attended DLI with the 9/11 hijackers.

You start out with something reasonable, and then you shit all over it with stupid...

"And then let's go with the information that many of the alleged hijackers trained at US military bases. Maybe we can find out more about them if we interview their friends and associates."

None of the hijackers trained at a US military base. This bullshit started with a right-wing blog (red-flag #1) 4 days after the attacks. The names on the list were spelled wrong, which made the anonymous source look like a major asshat.

We know they didn't train with the US Military because they were shitty pilots. The flying exploits on 9/11 have more to do with the stellar avionics of Boeing and less about the abilities of the hijackers.

Then there would be the 150 witnesses (or more) who sat next to these guys in classrooms, had lunch with them, flew as their training instructor (each aircraft type gets a separate instructor), the people at the graduation ceremony, the officer who pinned their wings on their chest (who would have posed in a picture with each), the photographers who took those pictures along with the standard "look at me I'm in a cockpit" photo, the support staff at the air field and the members of the ground crew.

None of these guys came forward?

Yeah, Frank Miller is rough on Superman.

MGF, after Newsweek reported that several of the alleged hijackers had trained with the US military, Sen. Bill Nelson made inquiries. He didn't get any answers.

We've already discussed the fact that Air Force spokesman Colonel Ken McClellan stated that Saeed Alghamdi attended the Defense Language Institute in Monterey, California. You seem to be unable to learn.

I never said the Pentagon was random, but that particular spot of it was. The Pentagon is a massive structure, and they could have hit it anywhere on the west side, southwest side or the top. It is only the Truthers who assign some sort of magical significance to that particular spot. As it was Hanjour nearly missed and plowed it into the lawn. If that would have happened the Truthers would just have made some equally idiotic theory about how they did that to cut down on the damage to the Pentagon.

No, he said "a" Saeed Al Ghamdi studied at DLI. I remember your idiotic speculation about how he must have been studying Urdu, despite the fact it was not taught there at the time. You seem to be unable to learn.

Your inability to recognize the absurdity of your claim that someone "speculated" that something "must have" happened only shows your irrationality.

Sounds awesome. Newsweek reported an initial report. Initial reports are always wrong (see every major event in history).

Just for fun I have e-mailed Senator Nelson on this subject, and I will post a response as soon as I receive one.

You can too: http://billnelson.senate.gov/#

"We've already discussed the fact that Air Force spokesman Colonel Ken McClellan stated that Saeed Alghamdi attended the Defense Language Institute in Monterey, California. You seem to be unable to learn."

Saeed Alghamdi was not the same guy. The Saeed Alghamdi who was at DLI is still alive as he was not a 9/11 hijacker. Just as you are not the Brian Goode who is the weatherman for WAVE 3 in Louisville,or the Rapper, or the chef, and you sure as hell are not the body builder.

I have extensive connections to DLI in Monterey and I know for a fact he isn't the same guy.

Worse, you have the wrong DLI. He attended the DLI at Lackland AFB in Texas.

So what have we learned today?

1. Brian holds unsubstantiated claims in equal standing as fact.

2. Brian doesn't know the difference between California and Texas.

3.He accuses people of being racist because all Arab names sound the same, but then assumes a 9/11 hijacker went to (a) DLI because the name sounded the same.

4. Then he oinks :"Your inability to recognize the absurdity of your claim that someone "speculated" that something "must have" happened only shows your irrationality."
which is rich because all he does is speculate...well when he's not running away from his latest accusation.

"Frankly Brian,

I don't think your attacks on me, Kevin Barrett, and William Rodriguez have anything to do with Kevin Barrett or William Rodriguez or anything rational. The attacks have to do with Brian Good and Carol Brouillet and are completely emotional. You have a crush on me and erroneously hold delusions about me.

You are being irrationally jealous of Kevin and William. You cannot accept the fact that I am happily married and refuse to allow you to TRY to cause trouble between my husband and I. Because of your delusions, I cannot ever feel "safe" in your presence alone, and would rather not see you again, but you are so desperate for attention that you are doing extremely negative, destructive things- attacking me and respectedmembers of the 9/11 Truth Movement to force me to pay attention to you.

Leave me alone- stop the email attacks on me and others. I think it probably harms your reputation more than mine, although it is horrifically embarrassing to me to think that at one time I thought of you as a friend. Now I only see you as a threat to me, my family, the Northern California 9/11 Truth Alliance and the 9/11 Truth Movement.

I have zero confidence in your judgement and rationality.

Carol Brouillet"

Not 9/11 related. A Chinese construction firm plans to build the tallest building in the world in 90 days. This link has a cool video of a 30 story job they put up in 15 days:

Holy crap-ola. No, they don't use cardboard.

At 17 June, 2012 11:47, Blogger snug.bug said...

Using cardboard for a high rise would be silly. Cardboard material is not predictable enough for high rises, which must be very precisely engineered. That does not change the fact that cardboard for electronic devices and bridges is quite practical.

I see you spent another delightful Saturday night in Castroville. Whassamatter, you can't get to Santa Cruz 'cause people won't pick you up hitch-hiking on hwy 1 any more 'cause they all know you?

Nope. Nowhere near Castroville last night.

Tell us why Bush needed to stage the attacks on 9/11 again.

MGF, electronic circuits printed on paper are quite common. Maybe someday you'll have electricity in your home and you'll learn about these things.

Bush didn't need to stage the attacks on 9/11. I don't even know if he wanted to. If you are not aware of the trillions of dollars that have gone to defense and security contractors since 9/11 then you're not thinking about history very clearly.

NIST relies on the ignorance of people like you; that's why your erroneous belief that Bush didn't stage the attacks on 9/11 exposes your crippled epistemology.

In prologue of the NIST report they establish the reason florescent lights hum is because they don't know the words.

Poor Brian. He's hysterical because we still point and laugh at him for being a failed janitor, liar, and lunatic, no matter how much idiotic spam he posts on this blog.
